Program Description

The economic effects of COVID-19 are being felt around the world. In this online and highly topical program, local expert Amy Blouin, Executive Director of the Missouri Budget Project, will discuss the U.S. Federal Budget and what's at stake for Missouri, especially given the spread of COVID-19.

Amy will share what the U.S. Congress is doing to help and what the increased demand for public services will mean for Missouri's state revenue & budget. Additionally, she will cover what Missouri’s state legislature needs to do to take advantage of federal assistance and additional actions the state can take. We'll wrap up by discussing what this means for local funders and for the work of our grantees.

Note: Participants are encouraged to watch the Economic Opportunity Funders (EOF)'s 2020 Federal and State Budget and Tax Outlook briefing in advance of this program, so that we can reserve our time online for Amy's presentation & live discussion.
