Program Description

Back by popular demand, join the Gateway Center for Giving for a Skills & Strategies program featuring Amy Altholz of RubinBrown. This year, the program will be offered in a two-part workshop.

Session 1: Understanding 990s & Audited Financial Statements

In the first session, attendees will walk through the highlights of how to read both a form 990 and audited financial statements.

Session 2: Using Nonprofit Financial Statements to Inform Grantmaking

In the second session, attendees will gather in to small groups to dive deeper into 990s and audited financial statements and learn how to use financial information in grantmaking decisions. Facilitators for this session include:

  • Barbara Carswell, YouthBridge Community Foundation
  • Vander Corliss, United Way of Greater St. Louis
  • Deena Lauver Scotti, Missouri Foundation for Health
  • Mark Seebeck, Missouri Foundation for Health

All funders are welcome to attend one or both sessions. This workshop is particularly beneficial for those grantmakers newer to the sector.
