Julie Hardin
Director, Civic Affairs and Community Engagement,

As Director, Julie is responsible for building out the organization’s enterprise-wide civic affairs and community investment strategy. In this capacity, she is responsible for the management of all Civic Affairs charitable spending, which includes strategic grant-making and sponsorship support at enterprise-wide, national or local levels. She also manages all Civic Affairs programs and initiatives including employee engagement, volunteerism, board service and employee giving campaigns. In addition, Julie plays a key role in managing the Healthier Kids for Our Future initiative, Express Scripts Dependent Scholarship Program and Matching Gifts program.

As a champion for strong, healthy and robust communities, Julie strives to build relationships that impact lives and change communities.  She showcases this by being actively involved in the community, and serving on the board of Gateway Center for Giving and the STEMpact Collaborative.

Julie has a B.A. in Organizational Studies from St. Louis University. Prior to Cigna, Julie held various roles in Human Resources and Community Relations at Peabody Energy, managing the development and execution of programs, processes and procedures in support of each function.

Julie and her husband Keith are the proud parents of Noah and Ellie.

Philanthropy Missouri helps to elevate our philanthropic work by providing robust programming and opportunities to share best practices, and lessons learned, with other leaders in the space. The organization helps to remove silos between community investment efforts by creating a space to share and learn from each other. This is invaluable to our overall success and impact in the community.
