Whitney True Francis
Whitney joined PhilMO in August of 2022 as the Outreach Manager based in Kansas City, Missouri. She is excited to explore the intersection between social justice, trust base philanthropy, and equity within the regional philanthropic community. She brings more than ten years of experience in community development and systems change work. She has worked in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors managing initiatives, policy advocacy and creation, organizational change, leadership development, adult education, as well as direct service advocacy with victim-survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
Whitney earned a Bachelors of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Masters of Arts in Strategic Communications & Leadership from Park University. She is also a certified Conflict Mediator in the State of Missouri, and a certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor.
Whitney lives in Kansas City with her partner Ali, and 11 year-old son Jude. They also have two rescue dogs named Sweetheart and Chief. In their free time as a family they enjoy the outdoors, watching sports, running 5k’s together as well as racing family obstacle courses. Whitney also enjoys facilitating trauma-informed support groups, yoga classes, and workshops on trauma-informed communications and mediation in her community.
