Program Description

Funders and philanthropic advisors in and serving Missouri are invited to join Philanthropy Missouri for a briefing on current federal budget and tax issues followed by a discussion of their impact on Missouri.

For the first half of this program, we will join peers across the country for a livestream of the Economic Opportunity Funders' (EOF) analysis of the key provisions in the federal budget, upcoming budget debates, and strategies that connect racial and economic equity and an inclusive democracy. Speakers during this livestream include:

  • Robb Gray, Director of Policy-Advocacy, W.K. Kellogg Foundation (Moderator)
  • Taifa Smith Butler, President, Demos
  • Sharon Parrott, President, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

Immediately following the livestream, the conversation will continue with a Missouri focus. Amy Blouin, President & CEO of the Missouri Budget Project, will discuss the implications for the state of Missouri and how funders can fill in the gaps left behind.

Agenda

2:00pm - Economic Opportunity Funders Presentation Livestream

3:05pm - Missouri Budget Project Presentation and Discussion

Those that are not able to attend the first session with EOF are still welcome to join the local discussion with Missouri Budget Project.
