Program Description

Read and be inspired with us!

Join your grantmaker colleagues as we launch our second-annual Philanthropy Missouri Member Book Club.

This book club convenes and connects grantmakers interested in exploring sector perspectives, with the understanding that enhanced knowledge and relationships can inform our work as grantmakers and collaborators.

We're pleased to announce this summer we will read The Tech That Comes Next: How Changemakers, Philanthropists, and Technologists Can Build an Equitable World by Amy Sample Ward & Afua Bruce.

This book connects ideas and conversations across sectors from artificial intelligence to data collection, community centered design to collaborative funding, and social media to digital divides. Technology and equity are inextricably connected, and The Tech That Comes Next explores strategies to accelerate more equitable change.

At this brief 30-minute kick-off session, we’ll introduce our 2023 co-facilitators and discuss our objectives.

You don't have to read the book in advance of the kick-off meeting. The full book discussion will take place on Tuesday, July 11, from 10:00-11:30 am; registration for that conversation is coming soon.
