Description

Are you struggling to increase employee volunteerism and sustain (or heighten!) their level of commitment?

Are you looking to develop employee giving and volunteering experiences that are both meaningful to employees and contribute to a more inclusive society?

Join us for a thought-provoking session to rethink the way you approach employee volunteerism. During this session, you will hear about groundbreaking research, inspiring stories, and real-life examples that you can integrate into your corporate citizenship program to empower employees to challenge their assumptions, become alert to new ideas, and take action toward a company-wide social movement. After this session, you will understand the difference between transactional and transformative volunteering and gain practical insights for working with nonprofits and key partners, including how to plan transformative experiences that engage employees at their highest level of contribution.

Guest Speaker: Chris Jarvis, Realized Worth / RW Institute

Chris Jarvis has been active in the Social Impact space for over 15 years as the Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of Realized Worth. In this role, Chris has helped more than 100 companies build, scale, and measure Transformative Social Impact programs.

Chris also acts as the Executive Director of RW Institute, a think tank aimed at removing barriers to corporate citizenship through transdisciplinary, coordinated action and scientific research. One of the current emphasis is the use of behavioral science to ‘nudge’ sustained prosocial behavior in the workplace to tackle common obstacles of low awareness and participation, address implicit bias, and nudge employees to make deeper commitments in their community investment.

Widely known for his thought-leadership in employee volunteering, workplace giving and corporate social responsibility, Chris has keynoted at over 40 Fortune 500 companies as well as almost 300 universities, nonprofits, government agencies, and conferences around the world.

What is the "Midwest Partnership"?

The Midwest Partnership Series is a collaboration between the Council of Michigan Foundations, Indiana Philanthropy Alliance, Philanthropy Missouri, and Philanthropy Ohio.

Programming is primarily a monthly webinar that connects funders across the four states and are typically designed for community foundations, corporate foundations and giving programs, and/or family foundations. Occasionally, a program will be relevant to all foundation types -- and all foundation types may register for any program. Also occassionally, the states partner to host an in-person learning opportunity.

Participation in the webinars is free for Member organizations; Non-Members may register for events for a fee of $50 by emailing info@philmo.org.
