Philanthropy Missouri welcomes three new board members, boosting statewide expansion plans.
Philanthropy Missouri is pleased to welcome three new board members to the leadership roster. The newly elected board members hail from Kansas City, Springfield and St. Louis, adding valuable perspectives and experience to the organization’s statewide expansion plans.
The following grantmakers were elected for a three-year term of service:
- Winter Kinne, Vice President, Community Foundation of the Ozarks
- Rebekah Miller, Senior Program Officer, Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis
- Robin Smith, Senior Director, DeBruce Foundation (Kansas City)
In addition, the following Board Members will serve on the Philanthropy Missouri Executive Committee:
- Jane Callahan, Executive Director of the JF Roblee Foundation: Board Chair
- Gregory Glore of the Glore Fund: Vice Chair
- Vander Corliss, Chief Financial Officer of United Way of Greater St. Louis: Secretary
- Angela Fleming Brown, CEO of the Regional Health Commission: Treasurer
The new board members were elected at the organization’s Annual Meeting, which also featured the announcement of a new name: Philanthropy Missouri (formerly Gateway Center for Giving). This rebrand is driven by a new mission and vision, signifying plans to connect and serve grantmakers across the state in order to strengthen and amplify philanthropic best practices in Missouri.
Philanthropy Missouri, a regional association of grantmakers first incorporated in 1970, provides robust and informative programming, sector research and peer networking opportunities to grantmaking organizations, and fosters collaboration in alignment with community needs. Membership is open to corporations, foundations, trusts, donor-advised funds and professional advisors actively involved in philanthropy. Current members collectively represent $5.8 billion in charitable assets, and their strategic giving creates sustained and meaningful community impact.
The new name is driven by a new mission: to equip, connect and energize our Members and partners for thoughtful action and greater impact; and a new vision: a thriving and equitable Missouri, served by a collaborative, purpose-driven and effective philanthropic sector.
Along with these changes, Philanthropy Missouri has a fresh logo, evoking the convergence of the rivers that serve to unite and define Missouri and the ripple effects of philanthropic acts.
